In 2013, a local pastor and a restaurant owner got together to discuss joining two soccer programs they had each started independently. The youth soccer program was one year old and had strong community participation. The adult soccer league was two years old, and similarly generating great interest and participation.  The two realized that bringing in a third party with bilingual experience and connections to the local immigrant community would be crucial to build intercultural relationships with youth, families, and adults using soccer as the main centerpiece for participation.

Two years of hard work later - the West Central Soccer Association was chartered with three founding members. Since then we have had many youth program teams for K-6th graders -  community ed soccer, U10, and U12 traveling MN Youth Soccer teams, and yearly winter and summer adult league seasonal brackets and tournaments.

The WCSA exists to promote soccer as a way of building community, intercultural relationships, family and inter generational participation in the lives of youth and adults.
